Since 2005 TERMA-ENERGO has been producing voltage indicating devices IN 3-10-00 and IN 3-10R-00 UHL3 for visual and remote monitoring of voltage in electrical installations for a nominal voltage of 6-35 kV, with indication unit WDH 96 × 96 × 48 mm. In order to expand the range of applications for climatic modification and location category, to reduce the dimensions of the display unit, to reduce the cost, several versions of voltage indicating devices of the IN 3-10-0X series with the display unit WDH 75 × 31 × 35 mm were put into production.
The voltage indicator series IN 3-10-0X consists of a display unit, 3 capacitive or resistive carry electrodes, and 3 connecting cables. On the front panel of the display unit there are 3 LEDs and 4 control sockets: 3 phases and a “body”. The red LED indicates the presence of operating voltage. The brightness of the LED is proportional to the value of the controlled voltage. Control sockets are used to check the display unit with the testing device, as well as for “hot” phasing, and to determine the phase sequence with the IF-3 device. LEDs do not require external power to indicate operating voltage.
Connecting cables are connected to the carry electrode and to the side panel of the display unit via flat knife switch. The output marking is also indicated there. The protective earth terminal of the unit must be connected to the cabinet of the electrical installation.
Devices do not need to be turned off during high-voltage tests of industrial frequency, measuring the insulation resistance of primary and secondary circuits with a megohmmeter, and tests for lightning impulse. If during the operation of the equipment it is planned to test with a constant or rectified voltage of more than 5 kV, then in applications, questionnaires it’s needed to indicate the configuration of devices with capacitive carry electrodes.
Connecting cables are connected to the communication electrode and to the side panel of the display unit via flat knife connectors. The pin marking is also indicated there. The protective earth terminal of the unit must be connected to the cabinet of the electrical installation.
In accordance with the requirements of the standard of JSC «FGC EES» STO 56947007-29.130.20.104-2011 "Technical requirements for switchgear of voltage classes 6-35 kV», carry electrodes can withstand high-voltage tests with voltage of industrial frequency 5 minutes. The output signal from any type of carry electrode 10-12 V, ~ 90 μA.
The voltage class of the device is determined by the performance of the carry electrodes. Drawings of carry electrodes, depending on the overall and mounting dimensions, voltage class, mechanical bending strength, are attached on page “Voltage Indication Device”. To place an order in addition to the name, it is recommended to indicate the design of the carry electrode and the length of the connecting cables. If only the name of the device is indicated in the application, for example, “IN 3-10-03 UHL3”, then by default the device will be equipped with IOEL 10-1.5-165-00 resistive carry electrodes for 6 (10) kV voltage and 2 cables, 5 meters.
